John (Jack) J. Curlett

Mr. John (Jack) J. Curlett Jack came to the Florida Keys in 1984 and has resided there ever since. Originally from the cold northeast United States where, after graduating the University of Pennsylvania and serving in the US Special Forces during the Vietnam War, Jack spent the early portion of his life in the automobile business. After relocating to Florida he became active in yacht and boat sales with his own company, Card Sound Yachts.

Jack has always been a strong advocate and steward of Florida Keys waters and fishery having served on the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council, the South Florida National Parks Trust, Bonefish and Tarpon Trust and the Ocean Reef Conservation Association. He also continues to be involved as the tournament director with several offshore and inshore "release" tournaments.

Jack's perfect Sunday activity is to leave his house at 5:30 in the morning, along with his wife Katie and 18' Hoog in tow; splash at Flamingo in Everglades National Park; catch a nice sized snook, when in season and be home around midday with the boat and fish cleaned and lying by the pool getting ready to listen to the Dolphins while reading the Sunday Times.
